Email settings
Please fill in your email address to view your email settings:
Email is standardised and so these settings can be used on any standards compliant mail user agent (MUA) or email browser. Please note that SMTP requires authentication (PLAIN, DIGEST-MD5 or CRAM-MD5) but not TLS or SSL.
Important: Some bad networks filter the standard SMTP port (25), so our SMTP servers also run on port 1025.
Setup iPod email client
This applies to all iPod's that support email, such as the iPhone and the iTouch. To start the setup process you need to either select the email icon (if you have never setup email before) or select Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendars. The following instructions are for setting up a new account, but can be applied to changing your email account:
- In the providers list, select Other.
- On the new accounts page, fill in all the fields appropriately, taking special care to use your full email address and the correct case for all the letters in your password (passwords are case sensitive).
- On next page select IMAP as you preferred protocol. In the Incoming Mail Server section, use the details listed above, taking special care to to use your full email address as User Name. You will need to fill in the same details in the Outgoing Mail Server section, note that at SpaceReg, the User Name and Password are not optional.
- At this point you will be promted to save your settings. A dailog window may popup asking you to try without SSL, select Yes. SpaceReg does not use SSL for some very good reasons.
Your email is now setup, however you may get an error like:
Unable to Move Message
when you delete email. To fix this issue follow the instructions below:
- From the main menu select Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
- Select the account you are having problems with.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page and select Advanced -> Deleted Mailbox.
- Now select the Trash folder in the On the Server (not the On My iPhone) section.
